Details

For a long time there was a fallen forest in the Ramdas mouza of Panchagram union under Lalmonirhat Sadar upazila, not far from Rangpur-Kurigram highway. The name of this forest is Majder Aara. In the local language, the word ara means forested place. No one would enter for fear of wild animals, snakes, etc. When he went to clear the forest, he came out with bricks made in ancient times in which flowers were painted. In this way the foundation of a full mosque comes out by removing the soil and bricks. Among them is an inscription in the size of 6 '' × 6 '' × 2 '' in which it is clearly written in Arabic 'La-ilaha-illallah Muhammadur Rasulullah' in the year 69 AH. It was then that the locals became convinced that it was the ruins of an ancient mosque. At present a mosque has been built there.
